We have been informed by BBLP that their teams will go through and repair large patches of the carriageway which have deteriorated and leave other sections as they are that do not currently need attention, and then in the next financial year, they will go back through and completely resurface the carriageway, this ensures the carriageway survives as long as physically possible and seals in the carriageway below and doesn’t just mask any issues.
Whilst it may seem an odd way to do it, it adds a considerable amount of lifespan to the carriageway doing it this way.
The expected start date for surface dressing is 8 January 2024 subject to weather and therefore it is possible that this date may change.
